Heleen goes out in Loppersum and discovers how entrepreneurs in the region are embracing autumn in tasteful ways. Together with her mother, she visits the artisanal bakery, sits down for a hot lunch at Brasserie Meer and takes a look at the new restaurant De Eetkamer. A cosy day focusing on local products, good food and atmospheric spots.

Open Monumentendag 2025 in Eemsdelta
During Open Monumentendag, the doors of dozens of special buildings in Eemsdelta opened. Visitors could look inside monuments full of history and stories for free. In Appingedam, visitors could admire the Nicolaïkerk, de Basiliek, Museum Stad Appingedam and the Reformed Church, among others - each with their own charm.

Time travel on the castle grounds of Ewsum
Heleen visits the borgterrein Op Ewsum near Middelstum, a special place where history is palpable. She walks along the old fruit wall and gardens, takes a look at the keep and drinks a cup of tea in the atmospheric tearoom. She also discovers that the grounds are the starting point of a historical walk and regularly form the backdrop for the local produce market. A unique location where nature, history and tranquillity come together.

Tasty Local
Heleen discovers the flavour of the region and visits three special places where local products take centre stage. At Eikemaheert in Loppersum, she gets fresh produce in the cosy shop open every Saturday, and takes a look behind the scenes in the farmyard. At L'hopster Village Brewery, she is shown around, tastes a glass of the home-brewed beer and enjoys a tasty drinks board full of delicacies. She also takes a look at Damster Boerenzuivel in Appingedam, where she learns more about the milk products from their own cows. In the farm shop, she finds delicious kefir, yoghurt and other dairy products, complemented by products from the region.

Start of a season full of sporting events
Heleen ran in the Hippolytusrun, a cosy evening run in Middelstum. Along the way, she enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and encouragement along the route. Together with a friend, she starts the evening with a delicious dinner at Brasserie Ziel, where the warm ambiance immediately creates a nice atmosphere.
