Oranjebuurt - On the edge of the Noorderplantsoen is a cosy eatery, Lambik. A dark brown café that sat here more than 25 years ago was transformed into this colourful place. Guests of all ages stop by for a fresh bite of the day after an afternoon relaxing in the park. Eternal doubters beware: there is no need to think long and hard about what to order here! The menu changes every day and there is a choice of two dishes: vegetarian or meat. So you can be sure that the produce on your plate is fresh. Rivierenbuurt - Just behind the main train station you will find a cosy café where young and old come together. A neighbourhood café, just as a neighbourhood café should be. This is where all the facets of a relaxed evening come together: gambling at the slot machine, throwing darts at the dartboard and drinking a delicious, cool special beer from the tap. With 40 special beers (and counting), you can come here for your Vrijmibo, birthday or any other good reason for a drink. Not surprisingly, this former liquor store has been the place to enjoy a good drink for 90 years.

Oosterpark district - Stadsrestaurant Het Oude Politiebureau is a cosy restaurant in a unique building with dishes from all corners of the world. Sustainability, local and social are central here. In the playful interior, you will find several elements of the Oosterpark neighbourhood. The dishes are prepared with local ingredients as much as possible. And it is also a non-profit work-learning company, where catering enthusiasts can gain work experience. Sitting under the trees in perhaps one of Groningen's loveliest streets, you can enjoy an excellent bite to eat and a drink here just a 5-minute walk from the city centre.
