‘Nuchter’ captures the essence of the city
How do you make a beer taste truly ‘Groningen’? This was preceded by a whole research project. Texts about Groningen and beer tasting notes were fed into the computer. Typical Groningen traits turned out to be self-discipline, trust, rebelliousness, a focus on results and artistic flair. So far, nothing new. The ingredients identified through the tasting notes were the surprise. Oats were combined with the right varieties of hops. Full-bodied, down-to-earth and rebellious: this Indian Pale Ale has it all.

Family-run Martinus brews more than Nuchter. Just as Gronings is witbier 1717, brewed in memory of Groningen's storm surge in 1717. Not a fan of white beer or IPA? Then order the Blonde, Tripel, Saison or Imperial Smoked Porter. Whatever special beer you choose, with Martinus you are always right.
