Artist Gert Sennema placed a door and a bluestone step in front of it in a blank wall, which is not very unusual in itself, but the door does not have a door handle and therefore cannot be opened.

Behind these closed doors hides the history of the Folkingestraat, a history that can no longer be told because the people who once lived there were carried away during World War II. The door seems to be solid wood but upon closer inspection is made of bronze. Sennema treated it with patina that conjures up the structure and colour of wood. The work is part of the Verbeeld Verleden (Past in Images) project.
