In restaurant Waters of the World you can enjoy culinary delights in a unique ambiance. Chef Stefan Steinigeweg and his enthusiastic, skilled team prepare and serve gourmet delights and delicious dishes from the menu that changes every season.
The Coendersborg is located in the Groningen village of Nuis. There was a villa on this spot as early as the seventeenth century. However, the old villa had fallen into disrepair and was replaced by the current country house in 1813.
There is no shortage of birds of prey here. The buzzard, sparrow hawk, goshawk and kestrel defend their territory here, as do the long-eared owl and barn owl. For years, the latter has inhabited the work shed that now houses the holiday home.
The Tschumi pavilion was designed by the deconstructivist architect Bernard Tschumi and was part of an art exhibition in the ‘90s in Groningen. Five architects were invited to the city to design temporary pavilions, but this one remained standing.
The Sint Anthony Gasthuis was founded in 1517 and used to take care of the poor and the sick. The guesthouse was initially inhabited by poor elderly people, but later also by plague sufferers (1608-1644).
