Playing outside in Midden-Groningen

You can play outdoors anywhere, of course. But in Midden-Groningen it might be even better. That's because in addition to regular playgrounds, there are also many nature playgrounds and play forests. Here you can have a good romp, climb or play with water. We list a few of them.

Nature playgrounds

In all village fringe parks (Kolham, Siddeburen, Slochteren, Tjuchem) you can play great in nature. Make up your own freerun course, go looking for animals, climb, play with water: romp around in nature. Vos en Bos' and the 'Jongenseiland' in Hoogezand are also nice rough nature playgrounds that have recently been built or refurbished. Behind the Noordsuythoeve in Noordbroek you will find a nice new natural playground. The de Heemtuin in Muntendam is a great place to walk, have lunch, let the children romp around and camp.

Water fun

What could be nicer than playing with water or taking a refreshing dip? In the Schildmeer in Steendam, the Botjes Zwembaai in Zuidbroek, the Zuidlaardermeer in Kropswolde, the Grunostrand near Groningen or in the swimming lake in Kolham you can have a good swim. In Hoogezand you will find a play fountain in front of the Kielzog . Clamber over poles and stones in the water at nature playground Lutje Borg or in the village parks. At 'Vos en Bos' there is a water playground. You can also swim and build sandcastles at the lake in the Adriaan Tripbos near Sappemeer.
