Lance Sergeant John Alexander Bullions
Lance Sergeant John Alexander Bullions of the Irish Regiment of Canada led his platoon in the attack on Heveskes in April 1945. Under heavy fire, he cut a passage in barbed wire, allowing his unit to advance. While attempting to rescue a wounded comrade, he was fatally wounded. For his bravery and sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the Silver Star.

Lieutenant Donald MacKenzie
Lieutenant Donald Charles MacKenzie (30) was killed on 22 April 1945 while liberating Appingedam. Under heavy fire, he evacuated wounded comrades before being killed by a sniper. For his brave efforts, including a crucial crossing at the Schipbeek Canal, he was posthumously awarded the Military Cross.

Private Wilson Lewis Lemmon
On the night of 1 to 2 May 1945, Canadian soldier Wilson Lewis Lemmon played a crucial role in the attack on Farmsum. Despite shock, he voluntarily returned to clear a path through a minefield. His courage and expertise saved lives and contributed to the success of the attack. On 2 May 1945, the Germans surrendered, ending the battle for the Delfzijl Pocket. For his heroism, Lemmon received the Military Meda in July 1945.
